Freelancers

freelance network

Fellow freelancers, do you feel isolated and despondent in the void that has become freelance job searches online?

Join my freelance network. It’s free for now!

I got my first taste of disillusionment in the freelance job search not long ago. I had applied for a copywriting gig. The process involved me making a video talking about myself and my skills. Okay, a little weird at my age (early 50s), but whatever, let’s roll with it.

In the middle of trying to make my eyes all wide and alert-looking, talking into my phone using my best fake professional voice, I started feeling oddly disconnected. I hit Submit, then spent the next 10 minutes bugging out.

Why did I just do that? Is this real? Who is even on the other end of this?

Where will my video end up? In some databank? Will they steal my identity, my voice, infiltrate my phone, tap my bank account?

I shook it off. “I guess this is the way of the freelance world now.”

Applied to a bunch more copywriting gigs, having no idea where my talking head video ended up. I still don’t know… can’t even tell you what company I submitted my face and voice to that day.

I have since read about other freelancers feeling that same sense of unreal-ness. Forced to awkwardly record themselves for video interviews… getting that boilerplate rejection email so fast, it seems like no one ever even read your resume, did they.

If you, too, are utterly fed up with freelance job sites that yield nothing other than junk emails and spam texts… let’s link up.

Hook up with me, Dina the Copywriter. I’m a real human freelancer with a beating heart; and thoughts that run wild, which don’t follow a script or formula.

Like you, I’m looking to bypass the evil computers. My goal is to break through to other human beings who work… have work… want more work… want to work together.

Join my band of angry (sad? confused? insert your emotion here) freelancers.

I’ve set up an email list that I will occasionally send you useful, freelance-related things from. It could be leads, it could be resources, it could be tips, it could be tools.

But again: my main purpose is to hook up with REAL PEOPLE.

Eff these evil computers. There will be ZERO fakes on my list. That requires an iron-fisted vetting process. So I’m going hard with my pre-screening questions, which is why I ask for all of this information from you on the form.

If you give me your contact info, below, I promise I will never, ever share or sell your email like all those job sites who did me/us like that.

I hope to make this website a hub where freelancers who need work, can connect with companies who need workers. A freelance job match… with Dina!
