Let’s explore the perks of remote work for copywriters, content managers, designers and such. Honestly. Remote work is the best thing that ever happened to me personally. Why? Because I go with MY flow, and that makes me productive as hell. I work on a 24-hour free flowing schedule, not someone else’s 8-hour forced schedule. I have 24 hours each work day to…
- prep my meals, do personal hygiene, light cleaning
- kickstart my morning with deep focus on a work task
- take care of household chores while my computer “thinks”
- power through 4 hours of work on laser-focus
- go out to exercise/spend time with my son
- work some more without anyone giving me needless guilt for being a human
- refresh with a half-hour nap if I need one
- get up and 5X my productivity thanks to the power nap
- feel empowered that if i set a goal, i know i’m going to hit that goal because i’ve placed trust in myself to do it…
- pull a “work until 3 am” occasionally because i’m inspired and on a roll…
- and i don’t do/need “sick days”. instead, i rest, then rouse and work again,
… and I THRIVE WITH ALL OF THIS, as a copywriter, website creator, and content manager.
What Does Not Work with Traditional In-Office Marketing Jobs
Sitting in traffic does not work for me. Spending money on lunch out every day does not work for me. Sitting in a cubicle breathing other people’s air does not work for me. Doing “polite office chat” does not work for me. 🙂
This is what works for me. Remote work. My friends are on FB or in my inbox if I need them. I THRIVE in remote work – not the kind where you’re logged in and hours are tracked, but where you’re TRUSTED to get the job done, and you do because being trusted is EMPOWERING.
How about you? Do you thrive in a remote work setting? Why or why not?
